Streemster Rules

We believe that everyone who is 18 years or older should have the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers. In order to protect the experience and safety of people who use Streemster, there are some limitations on the type of content and behaviour that we allow. These limitations are set forth in the Streemster Rules below.

The Streemster Rules (along with all incorporated policies), Privacy Policy, and Ownership of Site; Agreement to Terms of Use, Streemster Terms of Sale collectively make up the "Streemster User Agreement" that governs a user's access to and use of Streemster's services.

  • Ownership of Site; Agreement to Terms of Use
  • Privacy Policy
  • Limited Liability - Streemster
  • Streemster Terms of Sale

All individuals accessing or using Streemster’s services must adhere to the policies set forth in the Streemster Rules. Failure to do so may result in Streemster taking one or more of the following enforcement actions:

  • requiring you to remove prohibited content before you can again create new posts and interact with other Streemster users;
  • temporarily limiting your ability to create posts or interact with other Streemster users;
  • asking you to verify account ownership with a phone number or email address;
  • Or permanently suspending your account(s).

If you attempt to evade a permanent suspension by creating new accounts, we will suspend your new accounts.

Please note that we may need to change these Rules from time to time and reserve the right to do so.

The policies set forth in these Streemster Rules govern organic user generated content on our platform.

Content Boundaries and Use of Streemster

Applies to all users of the site

Sponsor :- A registered user of Streemster who engages to purchase a subscription or product from a Creator using one of the available formats on the Creator ‘About Page

Creator :- A registered user of Streemster who promotes their products, and services by setting up an About page, and using the available promotion tools and formats to sell products or subscriptions to registered users on Streemster.

All users have the right to operate on the site as a Creator, Sponsor, or both roles.

NB - Creator roles are launching soon watch this space

  1. Account Creation

    When you register for an account you must provide us with accurate information. If you don’t provide us with accurate information then we may not be able to assist you with accessing your account.

    To register for an account you must be at least 18 years old. To give or receive pledges you must be at least 18 years old or have your parent’s permission.

    You are responsible for anything that occurs when anyone is signed in to your account, as well as the security of the account. If you believe your account is compromised, you must contact us immediately.

  2. Your role as a Sponsor

    To become a sponsor simply create an account and pledge to any creator!

    You support a creator on a per month basis, then you are charged on behalf of the creator immediately at the time of the pledge for the full amount of the subscription. Beginning in the month after the month in which you made your initial pledge, your payment is batched with your other existing pledges and charged at the start of the month. You may cancel your pledge at any time.

    Depending on your location, some banks may charge you a 3% foreign transaction fee for your pledge, which will be assessed in addition to the pledge amount. Streemster does not control this charge. Please contact your bank for information.

    If you are located in the EU, then VAT is added to the total charge. This is shown when you set up the initial pledge amount.

    In certain situations you may lose access to a creator’s sponsor-only content, including rewards. These include when you cancel your pledge, your payment method fails, the creator blocks you, or the creator deletes their account.

    We have no control over the quality, timing or legality of content or rewards. We do not grant refunds for failure to deliver rewards. We do attempt to screen for fraudulent creator pages, but cannot guarantee the identity of creators or the validity of any claims they make. We appreciate your help reporting suspicious creator pages so we can improve Streemster.

  3. Your role as a Creator

    To become a creator, directly make a creator account, at the launch page.

    You charge sponsors per month, most payments are processed at the start of each month.  In connection with your charges to sponsors, you appoint us as your limited agent for the sole purpose of receiving, holding, and settling payments to you. As your agent, our receipt of funds from a sponsor on your behalf is the same as receipt of funds by you directly, and you will only have recourse against us, and not against any sponsor, for any failure by us to settle funds to you. We try to provide timely access to your funds, but you may occasionally experience delays in accessing your funds. We may also block or hold payments for violations of the terms or compliance reasons, including collecting tax reporting information. When payments are delayed or blocked we try to communicate the reasons to you promptly. In order to protect creators, we may block sponsors’ payments if we believe them to be fraudulent.

    Our fee to process transactions on your behalf is 5% of processed pledges. Separate payment processing fees vary based on the pledge amount, but are typically under 5% of the total amount we process for you, processed across all sponsors. Depending on your sponsors’ locations, some banks may charge your sponsor a 3% foreign transaction fee for their pledge, which will be assessed in addition to the pledge amount. Streemster does not control this charge.

    We do not handle most tax payments, but we collect tax identification information and report this to tax authorities as legally required. You are responsible for reporting any taxes.

    The one area of taxes where we handle payments on your behalf is VAT payments for electronically supplied services to sponsors in the EU. For the purpose of electronically supplied services, creators make a supply of that content to us, and then we supply it to the sponsor. To learn more about how we handle VAT, please check our VAT guide.

    We restrict some types of content and rewards. You cannot promote  illegal activity or ‘planning’ for illegal activity as defined in English law.

    If your potential sponsors are under the age of 18, please remind them that they need permission to pledge. Anyone under the age of 16 cannot have an account.

    We are not ‘party’ to the agreement between creators and sponsors. If a sponsor requests a refund from us, we only grant it in exceptional situations. We deduct the refunded amount from future payments to you.

    While Streemster supports content creation, we do not legally endorse any content on our site. If content is reported we may remove it, but we do not take that action lightly.

  4. Streemster's Role

    We only provide a platform for creators and sponsors to interact. We do not screen or endorse any content on Streemster.

    We are constantly testing out new features with the goal of making Streemster better. We may add or remove features, and often test features with a random subset of our users. If we believe a feature is significantly different from these terms, then we explain those differences in the test.

    With your permission, we may give other websites or services the ability to verify information about your Streemster account or perform actions on your behalf. This permission is asked for when you connect your Streemster account to these other websites or services. Information can include the existence of your account, pledge amounts and length of support. Actions can include creating, editing or deleting pledges and any other interaction with creators such as posting messages or liking posts.

    You can close your account manually. We can close your account at our discretion.

  5. Account Closing

    You can permanently close your account at any time by heading to your account settings and selecting 'close my account.' From there, follow the requested steps to confirm. You can see what information is deleted and what we continue to store after the account is disabled in our privacy policy.

    We can terminate or suspend your account at any time at our discretion. We can also cancel any pledges and remove any content or rewards at our discretion. These terms remain in effect after your account is disabled.

  6. Your Content

    You keep full ownership of all content that you post on Streemster, but to operate we need licenses from you.

    By posting content to Streemster you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, perform, publicly display or prepare derivative works of your content. The purpose of this license is to allow us to operate Streemster, promote Streemster and promote your content on Streemster. We are not trying to steal your content or use it in an exploitative way.

    You may not post content that infringes on others' intellectual property or proprietary rights. Sponsors may not use content posted by creators in any way not authorized by the creator.

  7. Streemster’s Content

    Content we create is protected by copyright, trademark and trade secret laws. Some examples of our content are the text on the site, our logo, and our codebase. We grant you a license to use our logo and other copyrights or trademarks to promote your Streemster page.

    You may not otherwise use, reproduce, distribute, perform, publicly display or prepare derivative works of our content unless we give you permission in writing. Please ask if you have any questions.

Selling usernames:

You may not buy or sell Streemster usernames.

Username squatting:

You may not engage in username squatting. Some of the factors we take into consideration when determining whether conduct is username squatting include:

the number of accounts created;

the creation of accounts for the purpose of preventing others from using those account names;

the creation of accounts for the purpose of selling those accounts; and

the use of third-party content feeds to update and maintain accounts under the names of those third parties.

Please note that Streemster may also remove accounts that are inactive for more than six months. Learn more about username squatting.

Abusive Behaviour

We believe in freedom of expression and open dialogue, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up. In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we prohibit behaviour that crosses the line into abuse, including behaviour that harasses, intimidates otherwise known as ‘trolling’, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice.

Context matters when evaluating for abusive behaviour and determining appropriate enforcement actions. Factors we may take into consideration include, but are not limited to whether:

the behavior is targeted at an individual or group of people;
the report has been filed by the target of the abuse or a bystander;
the behavior is newsworthy and in the legitimate public interest.

Violence and physical harm

Violence: You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people. This includes, but is not limited to, threatening or promoting terrorism. You also may not affiliate with organizations that — whether by their own statements or activity both on and off the platform — use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes.
Suicide or self-harm: You may not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm. When we receive reports that a person is threatening suicide or self-harm, we may take a number of steps to assist them, such as reaching out to that person and providing resources such as contact information from our mental health partners.

Child sexual exploitation:

You may not promote child sexual exploitation.

Abuse:

You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.

Unwanted sexual advances:

You may not direct abuse at someone by sending unwanted sexual content, objectifying them in a sexually explicit manner, or otherwise engaging in sexual misconduct.

Hateful conduct:

You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease. Read more about our hateful conduct policy.

Hateful imagery and display names:

You may not use hateful images or symbols in your profile image or profile header. You also may not use your username, display name, or profile bio to engage in abusive behavior, such as targeted harassment or expressing hate towards a person, group, or protected category.

Impersonation:

You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations in a manner that is intended to or does mislead, confuse, or deceive others. While you may maintain parody, fan, commentary, or newsfeed accounts, you may not do so if the intent of the account is to engage in spamming or abusive behavior. Read more about our impersonation policy.

We strive to protect people on Streemster from technical abuse and spam.

To promote a stable and secure environment on Streemster, you may not do, or attempt to do, any of the following while accessing or using Streemster:

Fake accounts:

You may not register or create fake and misleading accounts. While you may use Streemster pseudonymously or as a parody, commentary, or fan account, you may not use misleading account information in order to engage in spamming, abusive, or disruptive behavior, including attempts to manipulate the conversations on Streemster. Some of the factors that we take into account when determining whether an account is fake include:
Use of stock or stolen avatar photos
Use of stolen or copied profile bios
Use of intentionally misleading profile information, including profile location

Spam:

You may not use Streemster’s services for the purpose of spamming anyone. Spam is generally defined on Streemster as bulk or aggressive activity that attempts to manipulate or disrupt Streemster or the experience of users on Streemster to drive traffic or attention to unrelated accounts, products, services, or initiatives. Some of the factors that we take into account when determining what conduct is considered to be spamming include:

if you have followed and/or unfollowed a large number of accounts in a short time period, particularly by automated means;

if a large number of people have blocked you in response to high volumes of untargeted, unsolicited, or duplicative content or engagements from your account;

if a large number of spam complaints have been filed against you;

if you post duplicative or substantially similar content, replies, or mentions over multiple accounts or multiple duplicate updates on one account, or create duplicate or substantially similar accounts;

if you post multiple updates to a trending or popular topic with an intent to subvert or manipulate the topic to drive traffic or attention to unrelated accounts, products, services, or initiatives;

if you send large numbers of unsolicited replies or mentions;

if you repeatedly post other people’s account information as your own (e.g., bio, profile URL, etc.);

if you post misleading, deceptive, or malicious links (e.g., affiliate links, links to malware/clickjacking pages, etc.);

Please see our support articles on following rules and best practices and automation rules and best practices for more detailed information about how the Rules apply to those particular account behaviors.

Accounts created to replace or mimic suspended accounts may be permanently suspended. We may also remove accounts which Streemster is able to reliably attribute to entities known to violate the Streemster Rules.

Content Visibility

Accounts under investigation or which have been detected as sharing content in violation of these Rules may have their account or Tier visibility limited in various parts of Streemster, including search. To learn more about situations in which content may be restricted on Streemster, please see our support article on search rules and restrictions.
