Kickstarter Backer - Get the Game if your country is banned for adult content on Steam

Subverse is a game for adults and its content is therefore age restricted in many societies which means the original choice of our distribution for Kickstarter Backers is now challenged due to Steam changing the availability of adult content in specific countries and regions. Steam is a broad platform with many types of existing customers which makes censorship compliance more difficult for them to manage.

Streemster is created by the team who have supported StudioFow and the Subverse project technically, and we are able to operate our platform in a compliant manner. We also have the benefits of starting off with a brand new customer base and we are fully focused on providing a reliable and great customer experience.

To be able to access the game, and download your personal copy of the game, you will need to create an account on Streemster. Once you have created your account, you can click on the menu button ‘Steam Key Redeem’ top right of the Store to start the simple process to redeem your Steam Key and get the download link for the game which will be displayed at the My Sponsor Dashboard page on your Streemster account.

What is a Streemster Unit?

Streemster, is a digital platform, which natively runs on Streemster units of value. Each unit is worth exactly 1.00 USD $. This is a fixed amount and will always be pegged to 1.00 USD $. So even if you keep Streemster units on your account, they will always equal the same value in USD $ regardless of what happens to the value of the USD $. Streemster units can only be used on the Streemster platform. Due to the international nature of our business, and future plans for accommodating future payment systems we choose to use the Streemster unit.

Streemster is a retail platform, and any Streemster units kept in the account can only be used for purchase of product on Streemster. Streemster is not an exchange, and cannot be used to hold or exchange USD $ for anything not sold on Streemster. Therefore keep in mind to maintain your Streemster balance only to buy products available on Streemster.

Why did my payment get declined? How do I retry my payment?

This could be due to reasons with your card provider or payment processor. Please check your subscriptions before attempting to retry the payment process. Any Tiers you have tried to subscribe to without successful payment will be listed in the ‘Sponsor’ Dashboard, page. You can click on the Creator listed to attempt the payment again.

Why was I charged more than my Sponsor amount?

For all Sponsors there is a payment processing fee which is charged by the payment providers which needs to be accounted for while maintaining the subscription to Streemster, and the Creator. Because payment provider fees are different for a range of reasons, means that we need to add the fee to the Sponsor billing.

Do you support international payments? Can I donate in any currency?

Yes and Yes providing you are able to use one of our payment providers.

How do I request a refund?

If you have made a subscription in error or if there is a dispute, please in the 1st instance make sure you cancel the subscription in your ‘Sponsor’ Dashboard by navigating to the ‘Creators’ tab and selecting the cancel button on the subscription you wish to cancel.

Then please raise a ticket with our support team who will review the case and help you get the refund or resolution with the Creator.

Currently there is no provision to accomodate a one-time payment except to Sponsor a Creator for one month, and then cancel the subscription to their tier

Taxes & VAT

How Does VAT Work on Streemster?

Our services are governed by tax laws in various countries. Currently for any consumers in the EU we are obliged to charge VAT on digital sales at the local rate. Companies can claim their VAT back. The rest of the world consumers, may have sales tax liabilities or requirements to declare their subscriptions, but these are governed by local laws which we do not have control over. As a sponsor you can only make purchases on Streemster by ensuring you have selected your local country based on where you are located.

How do I update my country of residence?

This can be updated by choosing your country of residence which is part of the settings section in your account section of the application. You can find this page by clicking on your username in the top right corner of the application and choose ‘Account Details’ from the dropdown.

Is my pledge tax deductible?
Is my pledge tax deductible? In most cases most probably not. However you will need to seek your own tax advice which is relevant to your circumstances and tax rules of the office in your location.

Editing & Cancelling

How do I edit my subscription?

As a Sponsor, you can change and update your subscription in the Sponsor dashboard, which shows you which Creators you sponsor and the Tiers you have subscribed to. You can cancel the tiers you subscribe to from your Sponsor dashboard. If you need to change your personal details and information you can achieve this by visiting your account settings and options under the user options from the drop down menu in the top right of the page.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription to a Creator account by cancelling your subscription to a Tier. If you wish to close your account, you can do this by visiting the ‘User options’ ‘Account details’ page, and follow the instructions when you click on ‘Close Account’ button.

I canceled my subscription. Why was I still billed?

This situation will only occur if you have cancelled your subscription to a Sponsor immediately after a billing cycle. Each month Streemster bills the Sponsor on the 3rd day of each month. If you are Sponsoring multiple Creators then you will still be billed for the Tiers you are subscribed to.

Why did I lose access to my creator after I canceled my subscription?

This will happen if all the content available requires a subscription to the Creators Tiers. In some cases and most often a Tier subscription will be required to access the Creator content. You can review the available services by visiting the Creators about page.

How do I navigate the app as a Sponsor?

How do I change my shipping address?

This can be achieved by visiting Account settings page, where you set your email address and other personal information.

I am a Sponsor — How do benefits work?

Once you have subscribed to one of the Tiers you are entitled to the private content, on the Tier that is managed by the Creator. Your benefits is exclusive access to the content published on the Tier. This means any particular digital content, being anything from ebooks to software to run on other computers or video and audio to download and use. Creators are free to price their content as they wish, and some creators may have more that one tier to choose from.

A creator I pledge to has been suspended. What happens next?

If a Creator account has been suspended, then we stop billing the Sponsors who are supporting the Creator. There could be many reasons why a Creator could be suspended. Once a Creator account is active again, and their Tiers are still active, then billing of the Sponsors will resume

How do I become a Sponsor to a creator?

A Creator will need to have completed their profile and set up some ‘Tiers’ on their account so that Sponsors can ‘sponsor’ them. Once a Tier is set up by the Creator, the Sponsor can choose to support the Creator by subscribing to a Tier on a monthly subscription. Clicking on the Tier you wish to support, or the only Tier listed if the Creator only has one Tier option, and follow the payment instructions. Please remember in order to complete the payment process, make sure your account settings are complete to facilitate payment.

What does it mean if the creator I support paused their creator page?

The Creator may not have a smooth content creation process, where they are releasing new content every month. This ‘Pause’ allows the Creator to manage their output and align with the billing and Tiers they have set up. For example a Creator may pause to go on Holiday or get married.

When will I be charged?

The Sponsor will be charged on the 1st day of each month.

Why haven't I been charged yet?

There may be a issue with your payment method or the process. Please make sure your subscription to a Tier is active, and that the payment process succeeded. If this process is complete at Streemster, please check with your payment provider on how their side of the billing process is progressing.
